Horace Vandergelder, a wealthy merchant in 19th century New York, decides to take a wife and employs a matchmaker, Dolly Levy.   Dolly subsequently becomes involved with 2 of Horace’s clerks, some lovely ladies and the head waiter at an expensive restaurant where this romantic farce runs headlong into hilarious complications.  After everyone gets straightened out romantically, Horace finds himself affianced to the astute Dolly herself!

Notes

The Auburn Stage is on the lower level of the Grand Theatre, and is accessible by both stairs and elevator. Please note that there are steps up to all rows of seating except for the first row, and since the venue is general admission, wheelchair-appropriate level-access seating must be booked through the Box Office.
